VERVE Boise

A Provocative Balance of Focus and Fun

Galvanized by grunge-y aesthetics and the great outdoors, Verve Boise carves out a one-of-a-kind space in the heart of Boise, Idaho, for students and young professionals to come as they are and do as they please. The hallways and common spaces of the student housing complex are tied to icons of the local community – like the murals of Boise's Freak Alley and the vibrantly green Idaho wilderness – through funky patterns, hypnotic textures, and old-timey wall graphics. Fun lighting fixtures, uniquely quirky finishes, and other engaging details elevate the resident experience into one of bespoke bewilderment; the eclectic composition of the building's comforts has something in store for everyone. Filled with functional amenity spaces that simultaneously emphasize modes of studiousness as well as playfulness, Verve Boise leans into the moods of the surrounding community and landscape to set itself apart as an atypical student housing complex for atypical students.

Entering the halls of Verve Boise, suspended canoe light fixtures frame the lobby leasing bar and establish an atmosphere of adventure, connecting the lobby to the prolific outdoor community found in Boise. Artwork and wall graphics depicting Idaho wildlife like fish, elk, and butterflies further establish an indoor-outdoor connection that is emphasized throughout the rest of the building. The lobby leasing bar itself serves coffee for student residents that are cramming before a test or just getting started with their day. In the evening, the space transforms into a pub-like lounge intended for studying, socializing, or blowing off steam after work or classes. Down the hall from the leasing bar, a micro grab-and-go market provides a convenient place for residents to grab healthy snacks as they come and go throughout the day. Dimensional and faux-wood acoustic panels on the walls and ceilings in social and study areas dampen sound, allowing groups of residents to partake in both loud, social activities, as well as quiet, focused study time, depending on what their agenda calls for. In the amenity space, a conference room is outfitted with fun light fixtures that encourage students to work hard in a playful way that ties to surrounding materials. Down the hall, a fitness center and sauna support the active lifestyles of student residents, while other amenities such as the gaming room and lounge, and quiet, individual study pods address the range of needs that typically accompany college students. In the center of the amenity area, the social club's double doors open into the outdoor courtyard, which contains a pool and BBQ grills for residents to enjoy in the warmer months.
