First Tech Federal Credit Union: Cedar Hills Branch

Reimagining Brick-and-Mortar Banking

Modern-day banking has undergone a seismic shift since the days of the neighborhood branch. People want online convenience—and in-person experiences for major, life-changing moments like getting married or buying a first home. Our design challenge for First Tech Federal Credit Union was to orchestrate a completely new, innovative, and technologically advanced experience. One that would be future-proof and adaptable while supporting the existing brand. From our integrated approach, we created an immersive, engaging experience that fuses the human element with ever-evolving technology.

Interior Story

Technology for People

Our design for First Tech Credit Union completely reinvents the banking experience. When people walk in, they’re immediately greeted by bank staff, who begin a face-to-face conversation to understand what the person needs: Advice? Or just a simple, quick transaction? In the lobby, visitors find touchscreens with engaging questions and tabletop touchscreens that sync in real time with large wall screen displays. Through language recognition, designs and patterns adapt to people’s responses. The surrounding interior layout accommodates the full spectrum of the banking experience—from quick transactions to thoughtful spaces for private consultation. A blend of technology and human interaction makes this branch unlike any other and leaves people with a truly memorable experience.
