We are very pleased to announce that Gray’s Landing, our LEED Platinum affordable housing project
in South Waterfront, has won a Vanguard Award from the National Affordable
Housing Management Association for New Construction, over 100 units.
NAHMA’s Vanguard Awards seek to recognize new and quality
affordable housing developments that have been built. It not only pays tribute
to those who have gone on to develop these affordable housing units, but it
also showcases the fact that well-built, creative, and modern affordable
housing units are available across the country and can be easy to address.
Gray’s Landing is a unique take on typical affordable
housing, using solar thermal water heating (providing 40% of hot water needs
for the building), possessing one of the largest green roofs in Portland, and
treating 100% of stormwater on-site via the green roof and flow-through
planters. Additionally, 42 veterans recently emerging from homelessness are now
able to call this building home.
In addition to winning a Vanguard Award, Gray’s Landing was also
recently named a finalist for the DJC’s Top Projects 2013. Read more about Gray’s
Landing under our Projects.
